MANASO hails Mzimba North DHMT

Malawi Network of Aids Service Organization(MANASO) has hailed the allocation of space for other services in the maternity wing at Mpherembe health center which was not being used for the past three years as crucial in ending privacy concerns among people living with HIV and those on TB treatment.
MANASO District Coordinator of Community Led Monitoring (CLM) project for Mzimba north Aubert Mwale made the remarks during an engagement meeting with Mzimba North DHMT on Thursday.
The opening of the wing for other services follows concerns of lack of privacy when collecting medication at the facility from those living with HIV and those on TB treatment.
Mzimba north Health Promotion Officer Lovemore Kawaghe confirmed the development to Zodiak Online saying they have allocated space for ART services in the newly constructed wing which is designated for maternity services
Kawaghe expressed hope that the new arrangement will also reduce default rates among people with HIV and those with TB as now they will be accorded privacy when collecting their medication.
