The Malawi Network of AIDS Service Organizations (MANASO) today hosted a pivotal meeting between the Global Fund Country Team for Malawi and local civil society organizations (CSOs) focused on HIV and AIDS. This gathering marked an important milestone in strengthening partnerships and coordinating efforts to combat HIV and AIDS in Malawi.
In her welcoming remarks, MANASO Executive Director Emily Kayimba highlighted the progress made in improving coordination among civil society organizations. She cited the consolidated national community-led monitoring engagement meetings and the implementation of a community systems strengthening project, funded by the Global Fund through World Vision, as notable examples.
The visiting Global Fund Country Team comprised a Technical Advisor, Senior Programs Officer, Country Review Group (CRG) Officer, and a Public Health and Monitoring and Evaluation (PHME) Specialist. The meeting was also attended by representatives from various CSOs, including Y + Malawi, HRER Malawi, JONEHA, Compas, CCM Secretariat, MIAA, NAPHAM, COWLHA, Angaza, and MANASO.
